Update on the Superintendent Search Process from the Fort Edward Board of Education

The Fort Edward Union Free School District Board of Education is pleased to announce that they have identified three finalists for the position of Superintendent of Schools. The Board began their search for a new superintendent in the fall.

The process to date has included an online survey in November, followed by a community forum in January to gather feedback from the community regarding the characteristics, skills and experiences desired in the next school district leader. Subsequently the Board conducted initial interviews and identified semi-finalists that were interviewed by two advisory committees. The advisory committees, composed of members from the community, school staff, students, and parents, interviewed the semi-finalists and provided in-depth feedback to the Board of Education to assist the Board in identifying the finalists.

The Board of Education is pleased to announce the following finalists for the position of Superintendent of Schools for the Fort Edward Union Free School District. Each finalist will participate in a final interview with the Board of Education. The Board will be conducting final interviews later this week.

  • Julie Adams - Ms. Adams currently serves as the Jr./Sr. High School Principal for the Salem Central School District.
  • Richard DeMallie - Dr. DeMallie currently serves as the High School Principal for the Gloversville Enlarged School District.
  • Camille Harrelson - Dr. Harrelson currently serves as the Director of Special Education for the Averill Park Central School District.

The Board of Education anticipates making a final determination shortly after the completion of the process. Once a decision is made the Board will distribute a press release to the entire community.
